As it’s a lazy Sunday and all… have been looking through a few images taken from my last trip back to New Zealand. There’s one particular beach just over an hour’s drive north from my home in Auckland. You can drive up there on a Sunday morning and literally have the whole beach to yourself. It’s an amazing part of the world with a nice little wave peeling in, perfect for longboards. But perhaps one of my favourite things about this beach is that you can rock up in your car, don’t have to pay for parking, and you can pitch your tent where you like and spend a day or two in the most beautiful part of the world whenever you like!

After raining all day, the sun came out and I headed down to Liverpool ONE to grab some photos of the new beach volleyball set-up. And what a fantastic set-up it is! Beside the new outdoor plunge pool and next to the tropical cocktail bar is where it can be found. Perfect for the balmy summer evenings, grab a team of workmates and head on down for a quick game of beach volleyball followed by an ice cold cocktail!

Wandering out for coffee every morning before the heat of the day hit, ended up being quite a nice little tradition on the extended weekend spent in Mallorca. Here’s a portrait of Natalia and her 86 year old grand pa on the last morning.

Think i’m over the jet-lag now, so with a bit of luck the blog will start to roll again.
Here’s one of my favourite shots from my recent trip back home to New Zealand. Taken at sunrise on a beach north of where I grew up – I guess it’s the subtle moody tones of the images I like. Last year I was chasing big dramatic landscapes. This year, so far, i’m enjoying more of a toned-down feel.

Over the next month or so i’m going to be posting a selection of shots from my last 2 trips back home to New Zealand. Obviously the scenery it’s world famous for – is one of the reasons it draws me back time and time again. But the main reason is family and friends.
So i’m going to start off with a couple of shots of my two Nephews. It’s amazing to see the difference each time I go back. It’s great to just hang out with them and spend time and snap off the odd shot.
